Krissen Horta is a singer-songwriter and educator born and raised in Miami, Florida. Krissen began her musical journey in her early elementary years when she found her passion for music. Her professional debut was at the age of nine when she was picked as one of the top 5 finalist in a national talent contest for her personal rendition of Barbara Streisand’s On a Clear Day.

Krissen attended a performing arts school in her high school years which the school’s curriculum included a strong emphasis in jazz and classical training. She was involved in many choirs and vocal ensembles as in the jazz ensemble, chamber choir, madrigal, and the schools classical choir. She was accepted in the All-State choir and was part of University of Miami’s Honors Choir. Krissen took many leadership roles throughout her musical journey as a performer and an educator. She was chosen to be a music teachers assistant throughout high school which gave her the experience to teach middle school choir and high school choir at such a young age. She would teach the students music theory, techniques and the repertoire they were working on through out the school year.

Krissen also started piano training in high school, she studied through the national guild program for two years and kept her piano studies through out the rest of her musical journey.

She went a few summers to Los Angeles, California to work on her composition skills with a producer who has worked with Sony Music Latin. This gave her a foundation to start her personal music career.
